Scripture: Luke 18:27

But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” AMP
Devotional:
The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.
In today’s language we use ‘possible’ in context with things that “could” happen. Yet in the scriptures it means so much more, it packs a powerful punch. Let’s explore what is possible!
The Greek word for possible in Luke 18:27 is dunatos. Dunatos means; mighty, powerful, strong in soul, mighty in wealth and influence, to bear calamities and trials with fortitude and patience, and excelling.
With God things aren’t “could'' happen, they have already “happened,” past tense. Dunatos in the scriptures is translated as possible, but it is really showcasing what is only possible with God. Let us apply this definition to the scripture so we grasp all the possibilities that God has promised us.
With God you are mighty.
With God you are powerful.
With God you are strong in soul.
With God you are mighty in wealth and influence.
With God you bear calamities and trials with fortitude and patience.
With God you excel.
This is why I love word studies. You take a scripture like Luke 18:27, that contains the word “possible”. You think you know based on previous knowledge with the English language you know what that means. You don’t have a clue! You unravel the true meaning with the Greek word and “possible” all of sudden is so much more. It brings a depth to the verse that looking at the English dictionary definition of “possible” would never bring out. Eyes are opened to the wealth the scriptures have if you just dig in a little. One word can mean the difference between life or death, depression or joy, health or disease. One word in the scriptures can make all the difference. One word can make anything possible.
Confession:
With God I am mighty.
With God I am powerful.
With God I am strong in soul.
With God I am mighty in wealth and influence.
With God I can bear calamities and trials with fortitude and patience.
With God I excel.
With God all things are possible in my life.
