God Gives the Increase

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. - 1 Corinthians 3:6
To expand something is to increase it. In my last piece I spoke about doing the work to expand your relationship with God. But, this piece is about giving it all to God because He is the one who causes the increase. He is the one who causes it to expand.
The next verse 1 Corinthians 3:7 goes even further saying, “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.” When I read these two pieces of scriptures I think about humility. It clearly states it does not matter who plants or waters the only thing that is important is that God makes it grow. As we walk our Christian walk it doesn’t matter who has the most salvations or who prays the loudest or who sang that worship song. What matters and is important is that God is being glorified and put into position to grow a seed.
We try to make our actions equal our worth. At times we even make it a competition and winning matters. God does not measure our worth based on our actions and with Him there are no losers. We simply present an opportunity for Him to work. We are His ambassadors.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. - 2 Corinthians 5:20
Human nature is to make things happen. We lean more on our body and soul, forgetting the spirit.
“The natural and the supernatural coming together make an explosive force for God!”
- Kenneth W. Hagin
When we look to expand in an area we need to have faith that what we do in the natural world will have supernatural results. God works through us but He is the one working. He is the one who heals, saves and delivers. He is the one who causes the expansion! We can’t lose focus on what matters and what is important is God.
