Discernment

Swish, swish, swoosh. Swish, swish, swoosh. Swish, swish, swoosh. The game operator swiftly and smoothly weaves three cups across the table. The promise of a prize has you engaged. Which cup is concealing the ball? You think you know, however, with all the swishing and swooshing, guessing is your only option. Or is it?
In this shell game there is one person who is 100% sure of the ball’s location, the operator. Traditionally, the operator does not want you to win. But let’s say he does. To choose the correct cup, all you would have to do is ask him.
In this “Game of Life” God is the operator!
And He wants you to WIN!
The Word says in James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
How does He help us win? By giving us the gift of discernment.
dis·cern·ment
/dəˈsərnmənt/
noun
1. The ability to judge well.
How do we get this gift? Ask!
James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
When you ask for God’s wisdom, you will have the ability to discern which cup to choose and which cup to pass.
With God’s wisdom you will be able to “swish” away the cups containing trouble, heartache, and confusion. You will be able to “swoosh” away the cups holding lack and frustration.
When you ask for God’s wisdom, you will have the ability to choose the cups overflowing in peace, joy, knowledge, abundance, and delight…EVERY TIME!
Let’s Pray Together
God, I know your Word is true. I know You want good things for my life. I ask for Your wisdom. I always know what cup to “swish” away and what cup to choose. Because of Your wisdom, I always make the right choices. In Jesus mighty name, amen!
Now, go do great things!
